I have one credit card ( revolving credit ) and I have one student loan ( fixed monthly payments ). I want to keep one revolving account and one fixed account. Would a bank loan that pays off the student loan look superior as a fixed loan? I guess my question is: Do they both count as fixed loans or is the bank loan a more “authentic” fixed loan?

Do they stpo the accounts? Put a halt on them, or do they keep them open? I dont mind putting a halt, but to close the accounts after all is paid on the consolidation loan, i would like to know i have an open line of credit with my card company. Any input will be gladly appreciated! Thanks!

I am with a debt management program that consolidated my debt. One of my debts is a credit card with Bank of America. This account has been through two different collectors, NCO Financial, and National Enterprise Systems. nnWhen I attempted to make payment through my program to these collectors they both denied the payment and returned it to me. nnI was recently informed by the debt management company that NES had shut the account. I called NES to ask what happened and they told me they had returned the account to the original creditor.nnIt’s been a few months and I have not received any official notices or documents from BOA notifying me of their possession and terms for my account/debt. The debt has appeared on my on the web bank statement, but not on my paper mailed statements. nnI have read it is illegal for collectors to not properly notify you about your debt and their terms for collection. BOA has not. Do I contact them or wait for them to properly contact me?

I have gone through the Credit Counseling route before and after a year of payments to them, found out that they were not paying all my creditors. Ended up dropping them and continuing most on my own. They had a term the CC companies used (re-up or re-new, re-age?) that I asked the CC companies for and they continued as though I was using the couseling service. I cannot remember but if you go through them (credit counseling agencies) will it affect your credit and/or score? Can I still use the “re-aging” of the credit card myself so as not to injured my credit rating?nThe company I used was Consumer Credit Counseling and even though I did pay off a huge chunk of debt, they still screwed me over on a few CC’s that they missed paying.
